Why we prefer gas contractors over employees

  • Our contractors carry liability insurance of at least 1 million dollars, Employees do not.
  • Our contractors require a bond in the performance of there duties. Employees do not require a bond.
  • Our contractors have LGA and CGA numbers that are required for all Fortis BC rebates and to obtain permits. Employees do not have LGA numbers.
  • Our contractors warranty their work for 30 calendar days, to both our customers and ProGas and Heating Services. Employees do not.
  • Contractors are directly accountable to Technical Safety BC for compliance with the regulations and work quality. Employee gas fitters can hide behind there employers.
  • An employee will never be as invested into his job as a self employed person.
  • If our contractor messes up and fails to make the situation right, ProGas and Heating Services will step in and resolve if possible. You as a customer have double the backup with issues. For our complaint and resolution process and polices click here

 

 

Our contractors licencing and insurance

All contractors working with ProGas and Heating Services must be insured and bonded and maintain a current LGA contractor licence in good standing as-well-as a valid CGA, “B” Gas fitter licence.

All our contractors must maintain a current contractor’s bond of no less than $10,000 and Commercial General Liability Coverage to be written on a comprehensive basis with inclusive limits of at least $5,000,000.

 

 

Our contractors warranty their work and so do we

When providing our Gas contractors work, pursuant to ProGas and Heating’s Terms of service, our Gas fitter(s) are required to comply with all Technical Safety BC (Formally known as “Gas Safety”) Regulations, requirements and directions in the performance of your duty’s.

Are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, honesty and strong moral character when dealing with PGHS Customers.

Our Gas Contractors are required to ensure the highest quality in the performance of their services to ProGas and Heating’s Customers and warranty; service, repairs and on the job up-sales for 30 calendar days per ProGas and Heating Services invoice. 

 

 

Our contractors obligation to supply LGA and CGA information for rebates and permits

For all Fortis BC rebates and especialy Installations, our contractors must be in compliance with all Technical safety regulations related to installation(s) of Gas appliances insuring importantly that:

          • Compliance
          • Permits are obtained
          • A call for inspection is made once the installation is completed
          • The required documentation is left onsite
          • That the customer is provided with the Gas contractors, contractors  license and Gas ticket number
          • That the commissioning sheet has been filled out by the installer and given to the customer
          • And that the customer has all other relevant information that may be required from the customer to obtain the fortis rebait (if applicable)

 

 

Terms our contractors agree to every time they receive work from ProGas and Heating Services

By accepting the contract work contained herein, you agree all customer information, including but not limited to Name, Address, phone number provided to you in the course of your contracting duties remain the exclusive property of 578047 BC LTD hereinafter referred to as ProGas and Heating Services or PGHS.

You further agree you will not solicit PGHS customers; meaning, you will not provide customers with your personal contact information, place a “service sticker” other than that of PGHS on the customer’s appliances or provide to the customer a business card or any other method of contact other than that of PGHS.

You further agree, you will not accept, seek, solicit or otherwise provide Gas appliance services to ProGas and Heating customers, either during or after the term of your contracting duties with PGHS unless specifically directed to do so by ProGas and Heating Services. And that should you provide such unauthorized services to PGHS customers you will be liable to pay damages to PGHS for loss of income and breach of contract.

That you, the contractor shall comply with all Technical Safety BC (Formally known as Gas Safety) Regulations, requirements and directions in the performance of your duty’s.

That you shall conduct yourself with integrity, honesty and strong moral character when dealing with PGHS Customers.

That you shall be solely responsible for the resolution of Customer complaints including but not limited to BBB complaints or any other social media complaint/posting related to the quality and performance of your services which includes but is not limited to: service, repairs and on the job up-sales and gas appliance installations; And that such resolutions shall indemnify PGHS from harm of reputation or financial lost.

 

 

Untrustworthy contractors, no longer with ProGas and Heating Services we should warn you about

Like our customers, ProGas and Heating Services, expects professionalism, integrity, honesty, and strong moral character from the contractors that service. Sadly, and far too often, these important requirements have been missing from the contractors listed below. ProGas and Heating Services has paid the price both financially and by loss of reputation because of the poor conduct of these people, we have lost highly valued customers while these guys slip away to anonymity.   We believe it is in the public’s interest that we expose these characters for the predatory and dishonest people we have witnessed them to be, while emphasizing we in no way endorse the behavior you are about to learn of.
