About the company

My name is Dave Parkinson, I’m the owner/operator of DP Decks and Landscapes. After ten years of experience in the landscape construction industry, I decided to venture on my own.

Experience
Fifteen years ago I got a job at a local golf course mowing and maintaining the grounds, making the grass and garden surrounds as pristine as possible. After four years and all experience gained with heavy duty machinery, irrigation, and yard maintenance I got my first job with a landscaping company. Ever since then I’ve stuck with the industry, working here in the Okanagan and Calgary and gaining experience with; building patios, retaining walls, decks, sheds, pergolas, water features, irrigation systems, and creating beautiful landscaped yards. I am also certified in Landscape Horticulture. While living and working in Calgary, I also went to school at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for Carpentry. Being in the landscaping industry, I needed to find work to do during the winter months when work couldn’t be done outside. For the last four winters I’ve worked various Construction jobs, from new framing to basement renovations. I love working with my hands, solving problems, and bringing old and faded spaces back to bright and beautiful areas that clients can love and enjoy again.

Customer Satisfaction
From the first meeting, to the last walk through of the completed project, the customer satisfaction is the number one priority. After the first free walk through and discussion of the property and project, you will get a free estimate sent to you as quick as possible, with all the details of various types of materials and colours you can pick from. Next will be a contract, and free sketches drawn up of the project so you can get a great idea of what the layout will look like. Once the project starts, I pride myself on site cleanliness and client communication. If any surprises show up, or changes need to be made you will be contacted immediately. Once the project is finished and cleaned up, a final walk through will be done, and you’ll be given instructions for caring or maintaining your new renovated space!
